Philips EPIQ Elite – ultrasound at its most advanced
The EPIQ Elite combines high-end imaging with intelligent processing and workflow-oriented tools for demanding
clinical environments—from vascular and OB/GYN to cardiology and
interventional ultrasound.
nSIGHT Imaging – higher frame rates without loss of image quality
The nSIGHT Imaging architecture uses high-precision beamforming with parallel processing to capture and process
large volumes of acoustic data per acquisition. The result is a balanced combination of speed, penetration and detail:
-
Up to 2x higher frame rate without compromising image quality
-
Excellent penetration even in technically difficult patients
-
Continuous focusing with clear resolution across depth
HD MAX display – confident assessment even in complex pathology
The 24-inch HD MAX display with 10-bit color depth is designed for highly nuanced,
high-contrast visualization. With MaxVue optimization, clinical content is shown in high resolution across the full screen area.
The display is also described as 40% brighter than OLED and aligned with ACR guidance for
diagnostic displays.
XRES Pro – intelligent real-time image processing
XRES Pro uses multi-parameter filtering to reduce noise and artifacts while preserving clinically relevant
anatomy. Its high adjustability helps tailor image appearance to patient habitus and exam type.
MicroFlow Imaging – flow visualization beyond conventional Doppler
MicroFlow Imaging is designed to help visualize slow or low-volume blood flow, for example in
stenotic plaques, venous valves or small vessels. It supports:
- high-detail flow depiction at minimal flow levels
- visualization of very small vascular structures
- reduction of common artifacts seen with conventional Doppler techniques
PureWave – efficient crystal technology for demanding patients
PureWave transducer crystal technology is described as significantly more efficient than conventional
piezoelectric materials (up to 85% higher efficiency). This supports strong performance in challenging patients,
high Doppler sensitivity and robust elastography.
xMATRIX and xPlane – multidimensional focusing for linear imaging
With the XL14-3 xMATRIX transducer, the system brings multidimensional focusing to linear applications.
xPlane enables simultaneous long- and short-axis views, while ultra-thin slice thickness can
support plaque characterization. A 20% time saving for vascular examinations has been reported in an external
user study.

3D/4D vascular imaging – spatial assessment for better decisions
3D/4D visualization helps assess vascular structures with depth perspective. Combined with real-time flow
visualization, it can support:
- improved evaluation of stenoses and vessel course
- faster clinical decision-making
- more confident care pathways driven by clearer findings
Broad transducer compatibility – flexible across specialties
The EPIQ Elite supports a wide range of transducers, including linear, convex, sector, volume and TEE probes (e.g.,
eL18-4, XL14-3, L12-3, S5-1 and more). This enables flexible
use across:
- vascular imaging
- OB/GYN
- cardiology including TEE
- general and internal medicine
- radiology and interventional ultrasound
The Philips EPIQ Elite is a next-generation diagnostic platform combining high-resolution imaging, intelligent
processing, workflow automation and modern hardware design for users who do not want to compromise.
